However, when it is expressed directly in terms of an orbital angular momentum (OAM) basis, such as the Laguerre Gaussian modes, the IPE suffers from a serious Truncation problem. The authors will demonstrate that the IPE can be solved without truncations, by first expressing. It in terms of the continuous momentum basis.
