Data from four mines spanning the Ventersdorp Contact, Carbon Leader and Vaal Reefs were analysed using the MINF suite of programs (e.g. Spottiswoode, 1999). For each area considered, seismicity was compared to energy release (ERR times area mined), with seismicity and energy cumulated over time.
