With an increase in these innovations comes many challenges foremost among which is security. This paper presents a review of challenges faced in IoT connected healthcare and information security in South Africa. The study begins by providing an overview of IoT connectedness in healthcare in South Africa. An analysis on how this portends a threat to security is provided. A further study into how these threats have been mitigated with their pros and cons are presented.
