This is in line with Decision 8 of the Integrated Resource Plan for Electricity published as GN 1360 of 18 10 2019 in Government Gazette No 42784 (IRP 2019). The determined 2 500 MW nuclear capacity is assumed to reach commercial operation by 2030 in the IRP 2019. The capacity is to provide clean base supply capacity in response to the approximately 11 0 GW of coal capacity being decommissioned by 2030 as well as to maintain supply demand balance and improve energy security.
