Davies, BRDavies, TFrazer, JChutter, FM2008-07-142008-07-141982-09Davies, BR et al. 1982. Bibliography of African inland water invertebrates (to 1980). National Scientific Programmes Unit: CSIR, SANSP Report 58, Sep 1982, pp 4280-7988-2561-8http://hdl.handle.net/10204/2331This bibliography is a direct outcome of the SIL-UNEP Workshop on African Limnology held at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, between 16-23 December, 1979. Part 1 of the framework document for the A4 section of the Workshop - "Invertebrates" - consisted of a 74 page bibliography compiled by Davies, Frazer and Davies. As a result of the response to this document from the Workshop participants and other workers who were unable to attend, we have been encouraged to compile a volume as complete as our resources and patience will allow, and to publish this "Special Report" as an attempt at synthesis of the available literature. In addition, it is hoped that a key word and author "databank" can be compiled eventually, using this publication as a starting point. Obviously, although we have attempted to cover as much literature as possible, there will be gaps, dependent upon our areas of expertise, linguistic abilities (citations cover Afrikaans, Czechoslovak, Dutch, English, Flemish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish works), and experience. Particular problems arise in areas dealing with disease vectors and epidemiology. However, we have where necessary, attempted to cover as many general references as possible, in order that the interested user may follow up 'leads' given by this volume.enSANSPBibliographiesAfrican limnologyWater invertebratesInland waterBibliography of African inland water invertebrates (to 1980)ReportDavies, B., Davies, T., Frazer, J., & Chutter, F.
