Towards an e-model for the enhancement of service rendering by SMMEs supporting agencies in South Africa. IST-Africa 2009 Conference and Exhibition, Kampala, Uganda, 6 - 8 May 2009, pp 119781905824113www.IST-Africa.org/Conference2009http://hdl.handle.net/10204/3402IST-Africa 2009 Conference ProceedingsThe traditional and quasi manual-based approach for providing services by Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) supporting agencies to South African SMMEs is considered, and associated drawbacks demonstrated. It is shown that, the translation of the existing model to an e-model may lead to an effective and efficient service delivery, which in turn could positively impact on SMMEs operational objectives. The proposed e-model forms the basis for the enhancement of the quality of service rendered by various supporting agencies in order to contribute to the sustainability and growth of small businesses. A plausible operationalisation of such a model may impact positively on socio-economic development through income generation, eradication of unemployment as well as the contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth amongst othersene-ModelSmall medium micro enterprisesSMMEsSupport agenciesService-oriented architectureSOAService provisionIST-Africa 2009 Conference and ExhibitionIST-Africa 2009 Conference ProceedingsTowards an e-Model for the enhancement of service rendering by SMMEs supporting agencies in South AfricaConference PresentationNgassam, E., Kandie, W., Nkaelang, B., & Modiba, F.
