There has been extensive research with regards to adult biometric recognition. It is interesting to note that for children very little work has been done. This paper presents work that has been done on ear recognition for young children (individuals from age zero to 18 years). It comprises of the significance of using biometrics to recognize children, the advantages of using ear recognition and related work that has been done on ear recognition for children.
