These surfaces could then be applied to South African infrastructure for the benefit of the people. This paper is a collection of the applicable results of studies that have been completed globally. It shows the potential of such surfaces and if utilised could provide real health benefits for people living in urban areas. Economic advantages can also be experienced by the owners of such surfaces due to lower maintenance requirements.
