National Department of Transport, South Africa, Report RR 93/296, pp. 5881-86844-307-8http://hdl.handle.net/10204/9021This report is a publication of the National Department of Transport, South Africa, made available by CSIR.This report contains a set of practical course notes on the Rehabilitation Design of flexible pavements in southern Africa based on extensive research by various researchers and / or practitioners in South Africa. The course is intended for the practising engineer active in rehabilitation design of flexible pavements. The course is aimed at providing the practising engineer with the necessary informationa dn background to perform flexible pavement rehabilitation design, using the latest available methodologies. Although the course is intended to be pratical rehabilitation design cannot be done by simply applying "recipes" without clear understanding of the underlying assumptions, theories, applicability and limitations of the various methods. A certain amount of theory and background is therefore inevitable. It has also been attamepted to provide adequate information for both the experienced pavement engineer and the relatively inexperienced. Extensive references are also given and attendees are encouraged to consult these to obtain a better understanding of the various methods.enCC0 1.0 UniversalCourse notesFlexible pavementsRehabilitation designDeflection analysisElastic modulusSouth African mechanistic design modelPavementsPavement engineeringRehabilitation design of flexible pavements in South Africa.Short course on: Rehabilitation design of flexible pavements in South Africa (Book 1)Short course on: Rehabilitation design of flexible pavements in South Africa (Book 2)ReportDe Beer, M., Van der Merwe, C., & Rohde, G.
