It integrates both satellite and terrestrial techniques, which is vital in supporting rich media content for mobile handheld devices. DVB-NGH as a new standard brings features that results to it performing superior than the earlier DVB-handheld (DVB-H) standard. However, DVB-NGH inherits some of the features included in DVB-H instead of completely new features. Thus, DVB-H and DVB-NGH system have different and common features. Hence, the need for a careful analysis of similarities and differences between the two standards.
