dc.description.abstract This presentation discusses how SMART technology can influence the industry of the future. Topics touched on are software enabled machines able to respond relevantly to real world events, the industrial Internet of Things, and machines measurements and their various states used to train algorithms which will predict future failure conditions and schedule preventative maintenance. Outcomes, such as the extending of product lifelines, and an increase in service intensity, also form part of the presentation. en_US
