dc.description.abstract With the emergence of variable renewable energy (VRE) sources, such as solar photovoltaics (PV) and wind power, flexibility requirements in the power system are generally increasing. However, what is not so clear yet is what “increasing flexibility requirements” actually means. In order to develop the appropriate technical solutions, it is important to first understand and differentiate between the different types of use cases from which flexibility requirements arise en_US
