dc.description.abstract E-government in South Africa is at a formative stage and a snapshot of progress is taken by asking the 10 questions posed by the “Roadmap for E-government”. There is a strong political will driving the vision and the readiness assessment discusses legal frameworks, governance models, infrastructure and human resource development as key success factors. Alignment of projects with the vision is demonstrated through a number of case studies showcasing innovation in service delivery and customer focus. The crucial issues of corruption, human resource development and monitoring and evaluation are highlighted. en
