This report is concerned with the analysis data from three sites during mining with and without backfill, in order to determine the effect that backfill on regional seismicity. Since the geology and stress fields in any two areas used for comparison cannot be identical, corrections have been made to the data in order to reduce the effect of seismically active geological features. The seismic data have been evaluated in terms of the number and magnitude if events normalised to area mined.
