Cemented backfill is used at Western Deep Mine as local and regional support areas of high stopping width. The in situ performance is reported and compared to laboratory tests. A back analysis was carried out to obtain a more accurate value of the in situ (Young's)modulus was found to be in the range 45-50 GPa.
