dc.description.abstract |
For this workshop, members of the Regional research alliance (RRA) and delegates from the construction industry were invited to present ideas and contribute towards the implementation of Ultrathin Concrete road pavements. Dr. Joe Mapiravana made a presentation to the RRA board of directors that outlined the advantages of Ultrathin Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (UTCRCP). From this presentation the board initiated a meeting between the members of the RRA namely SIRDC, CSIR and BOTEC. Aurecon was also invited to give input as private industry partners. The goal of the workshop was to nucleate the consortium of partners for the ultimate rolling-out of labour based ultrathin continuously reinforced concrete pavements in the SADC region and beyond using a Public –Private-Partnership approach. |
