| Abstract: | This paper introduces the South African Weather Service's coupled ocean-atmosphere model. The paper also demonstrates the advances made in configuring an operational coupled ocean-atmosphere model in South Africa for seasonal forecast production. This coupled model development is also a first for Africa and has made a unique contribution to the notion of coupled model development both locally and internationally. |
