dc.description 11th International Conference on Frontiers of Polymers and Advanced Materials, University of Pretoria, Pretoria, 22-27 May 2011. This is an ABSTRACT ONLY. en_US
dc.description.abstract In this paper the grafting method will be described and characterisation of the smart PP-g-PNIPAAm scaffolds by fourier-transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray diffraction, and gravimetric graft yield will be discussed. Additionally, the authors will show proof-of-concept for non-invasive cell harvesting of human hepatocyte cell-lines in the 3D thermoresponsive bioreactor. It is envisaged that the CSIR cell culturing system will find application in any laboratory where large numbers of cells are required, either for routine work (e.g. quality control, analytical services), or for research and development. en_US
