Cloud computing is a sufficiently new research area. Since it is in its development stages, the information on the field is slowly being compiled by the researchers and practitioners from their experiences. Some of the areas in which there is still a gap on reporting are on are legal , privacy, security, access and regulatory issues. This paper raises an awareness of legal, privacy, security, access and regulatory issues that are associated with the advent of cloud computing. An in-depth literature survey is conducted on these and an analysis is drawn from the issues that are identified through the literature survey. Recommendations are then given on how the issues identified in the analysis can be mitigated. These recommendations centre around the issues of policy interventions, standards, privacy and data protection, traffic and congestion management, business continuity planning, security and regulation. This research is an advancement of knowledge in that field and is meant to initiate further debate on cloud computing. |
