dc.description.abstract Until fairly recent times, very little published information was available on the processing performance and characteristics of the mohair fibre. What information there was, had been acquired the chard way over many decades by those very few organization in the world which specialised mohair, and much of this information was, quite naturally, regarded as private and confidential. Without the availability of sound scientific knowledge on the processing performance and characteristics of the mohair fibre, any industrialist wishing to enter the field for the first time was there fore placed at a significant disadvantage. en
