dc.description Bytes Business Park, Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, 2-3 September 2009 en
dc.description.abstract This presentation commences by briefly defining nanotechnology, as well as nanotechnology application and products. Examples of nanotechnology risks concerns are supplied, followed by a risk assessment of nanomaterials in product lifecycle. A qualitative risk assessment of nanowastes is followed by nanowastes classification. A probable environmental nanomaterials flows graph in SA scenario is supplied. A case study of nanomaterials risk in Johannesburg is followed by the presentation summary, which states that there is a necessity for inventory of NMs and nanoproducts in developing countries such as SA to ascertain levels of risks. en
