| Abstract: | This study demonstrates that designing sampling schemes using simulated annealing results in much better selection of samples from an existing scheme in terms of prediction accuracy. The presentation to the SASA Eastern Cape Chapter as an invited guest at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University presents a prospective and retrospective optimal spatial sampling scheme using the spatial distribution of secondary iron-bearing oxides/hydroxides, to characterize a mine tailings area. |
