This ScienceScope presents some of the work the CSIR researchers do in aid of industry - directly or indirectly. Most examples comprise current research and development projects while the publication also features technologies already in use by industry stakeholders, as well as a brief preview of visionary science. It is important to note that industrial economic gain may not be the first or the only priority for engaging in R&D. The multidisciplinary nature of the CSIR work means that its research can add value to a number of industry sectors - from energy, health and mining, to automotive, food and non-commercial industry (through especially the deployment of ICT solutions)
