Abstract: It was found that the nitrile hydratases in microorganisms isolated from around the world had infra-species amino acid sequence differences, and this provided an explanation for the variability of nitrile substrate usage within the species. CSIR Biosciences Enzyme Technology supports the result - South African microbial diversity will include unique biocatalysts
