This document summarizes South Africa's participation in SIBEX-II and outlines some of the results obtained. South Africa's participation in SIBEX-11 was aimed at providing a temporal comparison with an Australian oceanographic overview of the area 48-85°E, and a meso-and fine-scale survey of krill swarm dynamics. The cruise was planned for the period 20 February to 5 April 1985, but had to be prematurely curtailed as a result of a rudder malfunction. Nevertheless, the data collected, and a preliminary analysis of some of these, are reported on here
