This paper summarises some of the main effects of non-linear, ie stress stiffening (in this case) behaviour of resilient elastic moduli of typical granular base pavement structures on the calculated deflection basin. The basin was characterized by associated parameters such as maximum deflection (Ymax), radius of curvature index (BCI), shape factors (F1 and F2) and outer deflections. The evaluation is based on a parametric study where the constants (K1 & K2) in the stress stiffening model of the granular material (layer) are varied. The effect of Poisson's ratio on the basin parameters is also investigated.
