dc.description Paper presented at the 13th Annual Transportation Convention, University of Pretoria, Pretoria, 1993 en_US
dc.description.abstract Some important aspects relating to structural damage caused by abnormally loaded vehicles on a range of typical South African pavement types are described. A summary of a detailed case study is given as is the determination of pavement damage. Damage was quantified relative to the effects of standard 80 kN loading using the South African Mechanistic Design Method. Based on the possible structural damage identified, operating rules were determined for the vehicles. en_US
