A comprehensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of an actual disc cavity, complete with rotation and conjugate heat transfer, is presented. The model uses a commercially available code with geometrical accuracy including a labyrinth seal, all the physics of a rotating system and conjugate heat transfer. Results presented include: flow patterns, pressure distributions and temperature distributions in both the
fluid and metal components, as well as heat transfer. Validation results for the temperature of the 1st rotor disc are also presented
