Sustainable development is not a concept with one meaning only; it can also be infused iwth ambiguity, which should not be bemoaned. The concept's meaning is wide enough for all societal segments, from the individual to the largest entities, to be involved in sustainable development efforts. This article will investigate Millenium Development Goal 6.8: support and strengthen the participation of local communities in improving water and sanitation management.
